Rent Video Games for Save Time and Money

LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars
The ability to rent video games from home without leaving the house has always been a true dream of mine. Not only does rent video games online keep you busy, but it can be very satisfying and knowing you can rent as many titles as you want at anytime and generally receive them within a day or two.

Here are some Video Game Rental Statistics you might find interesting: U.S. consumers spent $633.6 million renting video games in 2001, and a record-breaking $6 billion buying video game software (including PC software).

But why are people renting video games instead of buying? I guess, I can't say gamers are not buying video games. The U.S. computer and video game software sales grew four percent in 2004 to $7.3 billion -- a more than doubling of industry software.

Why rent games? I would estimate that person rent for 4 primary reasons.
1.The convenience
2.Its cheaper
3.Able to test games
4.Time sensitive

Convenience is truly  the luxury worth having these days. People are looking for ways to save time and effort. Everything these days has to be fast and easy. Online video game rental companies provide that and much more. First and most important, they deliver the game right to your front door. No more wasting your gas going to your favorite rental store, only to find out that the game you wanted is no longer available and won't be available until you make that drive again. Gas is too expensive these days, who wants to spend all that money driving to a video store when you can easily accomplish the same task on your home computer?

Super Mario Galaxy 2Second of all it's simple allot cheaper. The average video stores charges from $4.00 to $6.00 dollars per video game rental. That could get expensive, specially if you're renting numerous titles per week. Most of the well known game rental clubs like GameFly, Gottaplay, Intelliflix and RentZero only charge $12.95 to $19.95 per month for unlimited video game rental. So let's say you rent 2 titles per week at the local video store. That equal around $30.00 dollars per month compared to $12 to $13 dollars per month with the online alternative. This is a large savings at the end of the month.

Now here is the greatest part. Have you ever purchased a video game and just hated it. You can't just return the game, you're stuck or you have to exchange it in for store credit. So you just have to suck it up and move onto the next game, which might not live up to your standards. Renting video games online gives you the chance to test the game first before you purchase. The companies will even allow you to purchase the games at discount rates and just keep the game if you enjoy it that much.

You can keep the games as long at you like just pay the monthly fee. If you want to play 6 to 7 games a month or more you can just pay the one time monthly fee and be done with it. You don't even have to pay for postage. That's a deal that I can get use to.

Have Some Dunk Tank Fun

A dunk tank is a box, one that is usually a see through, clear plastic type of box that is going to have someone sitting in the box. As someone is sitting in the box, another person who pays to get a few small balls, is going to aim at the target, and then as they hit the target, they are going to sink who ever is sitting in the dunk tank. The dunk tank can be a lot of fun, at parties, at schools, at conventions, carnivals and at fundraising events.

You can purchase a dunk tank and invest in your future of your program. The dunk tank is not going to cost a lot of money, and the best thing about purchasing a dunk tank, is that you can use it over and over again for fund raising events, for parties and for those events where you want all types of people to have fun together.

The dunk tank is going to need some type of storage for over the months when you are not going to use it. If you are going to use a dunk tank just once a year, you can put it in an area that is out of the way. Put it where it is going to be safe from the winter weather and that it is going to be out of the way from all the other activities that may go on in that area as well.

Have you ever used a dunk tank?
If you have never used a dunk tank, you are in for a grand surprise. What you will find is that someone is going to sit in the tank, above the water, above the oil or above that huge pile of worms, and when they fall, they are going down into that. What is going to happen is someone is going to pay a dollar or two and get a few balls. With these balls, they are going to aim at the target that is rigged to hold the person above the dunk tank. As the person hits that target with the ball the person then falls. Some dunk tanks are rigged to be difficult to hit, while others are easy to hit. You can determine how far someone is going to stand from the target and how close a child might stand to the target for a good aim.

Charging "for that" chance to dunk someone is going to be based on the event that you are having. Different events include charities, for local fire companies, for someone who is sick, for someone who is trying to rebuild a home, or rebuild a school. All types of fund raising events can use a dunk tank when it is going to take place outdoors. Being outdoors it is not going to matter how much of a mess is being made with the water, mud or whatever you might be using in the dunk tank.

Bigger And Better Sports Site

Sample of Improvement

This site is proofing that Spanish speaker now have more options than they ever had before.  This site can be found similar to other sites that feature sport and games information.  After comparing them with other sites that offer similar information, I find very little difference.  In fact, the layout looks suspiciously similar except that the main advertisements on the home page on games and sports are probably those that they sponsor.  Each ad comes with descriptions about a line or two long.  At least, they do not crowd the main page but gives the user enough time to take in the information without straining his eyes.

Neat Graphics

The graphics are just about right on its main page.  One would not complain that it?s too extravagant nor is it too plain.  However, once you start moving to other pages of this site, you will see less and less of it.  In fact, you will just find that the pages are just plain texts and hyperlinks that lead you to other pages.  The texts are not extremely long that most Internet users actually hate doing a lot unless you?re doing a research or something similar where you need loads of information to fill up pages of your own thesis.

Overall, it may not be the best you would see right now, but it certainly serves the purpose of providing a good avenue for Spanish speakers a website that has most if not all the links they would ever when looking for important game and sports updates on game schedules, results and everything else.  They have done most of the searching and checking and saved the results for you on a single website.  Here it?s just a matter of clicking on what interests you the most.  And if you want to get more, just go back to their page and click on other similar sites.

Download Computer Games - Before Deciding To Buy One

The Internet is not only a good source of information on about every subject. You will also find many sites that allow you to download new programs and other useful software that you can copy directly to your computer. It also offers files that contain videos, music and games. Before you can use these files, they first have to be copied to your hard disk. This process is called downloading. Webpages usually have been linking to downloadable files.

If you click on one of these download links, your browser immediately copies the files onto your computer's hard disk drive.

DarkBASIC 3D Games CreatorToday, there is a very wide range of different kinds of computer games that you can download. Very often big gaming software companies allow you to download a trial version of a game that they have just released. They call these either trialware or shareware.

Typically, the companies provide shareware so you can download the games and try before buying it. The games usually are demo versions with limited features.

A shareware is accompanied by a request for payment that the person who downloaded the computer game is required to pay after a certain amount of time has past.

Free trial software is one main reason for the rapid growth of the gaming industry. Today the industry is worth more than $10 billion. With games costing an average of $40, it's a wise decision to download computer games for trial first. Most new video games released that have their own dedicated website, so players can be updated on latest news and sequels. Many of the computer games offering a free trial have a specific mission that the player can try out. In this way he can get a feeling for the scenarios and the overall design of the game.

If you want new gaming software, there are thousands of downloadable games available on the Internet including classic games that you may not find in a regular software store.

Nevertheless there disadvantages downloading shareware. The main drawback when downloading computer games is that the bigger the file size, the longer it will take your computer to write the information on its hard disk drive. This often can be a tedious process that can tie up your phone line for a long time.

Another factor that may affect the time it takes your computer to download the game is when there are a lot of other users that are trying to download the same file as you.

Then there is the virus worry. Many users worry that downloading a file could result in their computer being infected by a virus. However, times have changed and what was a problem in 2004 is no longer a problem in 2006. Big companies have their websites scanned for viruses on a regular basis and files offered for download are also scanned.

Flash Games

Macromedia Flash arrived in 1996, and was initially designed to add animation and interactivity to otherwise largely media free websites. However, it wasn't long before developers began to realize the potential of the software, and added functionality became available with each iteration.

Essential ActionScript 3.0 (Essential)In the beginning, the focus was more on animation, as primitive scripting allowed little in the way of interactivity. However, with the introduction of ActionScript in version 5, Flash became a strong platform for developing simple web-based games. This transition from basic animation and user interaction to full-blown scripting was a huge step for developers, and allowed sophisticated web-based applications and interactive games possible.

By 2001, Flash games began appearing on websites everywhere, and while early attempts were primitive and tended to focus on remakes of arcade classics such as Asteroids and Tempest, they remained highly popular amongst the online community. Despite their initial popularity, Flash games were known as little more than addictive time-fillers, perfect to whittle away ten minutes at work.

However, even with the basic tools in place, developers were coming up with a wide variety of Flash based games. Platform remakes of favorites such as Sonic the Hedgehog and Mario Brothers were highly popular, and the improving graphic capabilities allowed for much more immersing game play. Although PC and console games had little to worry about in terms of competition, Flash games were already an integral part of many online communities. The integration of Flash arcades into popular forum software led to vast competition between members of small and large communities alike. It wasn't a case of wasting five or ten minutes anymore, it was about coming top on the scoreboard!

There were still problems though, particularly with performance on lower specification machines. As Flash was not designed to run games in particular, it was inevitably not that quick or smooth running on some machines, which inhibited many action games. That was all set to change significantly with the next version.

With the release of Flash MX in 2004 came ActionScript 2.0, which allowed greater control over Flash applications, and featured improved data and media handling. Although most genres had already been explored, from arcade to first person shooters to racing games, the best was yet to come. The recent integration of improved data handling allowed many game developers to implement levels and scoreboards much more effectively, thus adding to the appeal.

Since 2004, Flash games have come on in leaps and bounds, and are hardly recognizable from the slow, blocky titles released just a few short years ago. The level of sophistication continues to develop, and while it will be a long before something groundbreaking is released, there are already many classic Flash games already available on the web. Titles such as 'Stick Cricket', 'Bejeweled' and 'Yeti Sports' are all immensely popular, and attract thousands of visitors each day. The playability and execution of a simple idea make these Flash games some of the most popular ever released.

The sites that offer these free games are also changing; the public do not have to visit individual sites (such as the authors website) to find new games, instead developers are submitting their games to massive "flash games" websites " sites that offer 1000's of games for free " one such example is www.itsall3.com, a site with free games, and free funny videos for your mobile phones (3gp videos).

What are the benefits to developers submitting their games to such massive collections of games? These arcade sites receive 1000's of visitors a day, so developers game get more hits ? there's no bandwidth costs as the sites host the games, and there's always a link in the game back to the developers website if needed.

These enthusiasts are not too dissimilar from the back bedroom programmers of the early 1990's. Many young developers thrived on the availability of programming languages such as BASIC, and the more recent arrival of Flash sparked the same levels of creativity and inspiration. Although Flash contains more scripting than actual programming, the underlying appeal of being able to create your own games (relatively) easily has been a major part of its success.

Perhaps Adobe/Macromedia will lean towards the game creation side in the future, or perhaps the focus will always be on animation and the development of web-based applications. Either way, there is no doubting that Flash game have become an integral part of the web and are set to stay for the foreseeable future. With the next version in the pipeline, it will be interesting to see what the next generation of Flash games have in store.

One of My Best Games

The teams were picked and the line ups were announced. I was batting third. I could not wait to hit. Hitting to me was like eating for a fat man with a tape worm. I lived for the experience. I knew even before I batted that I would get a hit. I was so young and cocky! After the first two guys on my team made outs, I strolled up to the plate, as confident as Babe Ruth - pointing to center field in the 1934 World Series when he called his famous home run. Digging in and sneering at Donnie, I was determined to smack that pill. First pitch was a high and tight fastball.

I got out of the batter's box and stared at Donnie. I thought fastball for his next offering. I was right. The ball came in so big. I could see the red seams on the ball. Boom! I connected on that real sweet spot on the bat. All batters love that sound. That crack that sound so solid. Pitchers hang their heads when they hear that noise. It's like the strike of chalk on a backboard, they hate it. The ball jumped off my bat and sailed over the left and centerfielder's heads. It was a shot and a half. As I rounded the bases I got a glimpse of Mr. Ginsburg, the high school coach, watching me round the bases. This was Major League stuff.
A few innings later.....

Gazing at Donnie, I thought how much more determined he looked, as I went to bat for the second time. His brow was crimped and his eyes were staring. With a runner on first he was pitching from the stretch. His leg glided toward home his arm raised high, he flung the ball at me. I do not know what kind of pitch he threw. What I do know is that I hit a rocket about 15 feet over the third baseman's head down the left field line. As the ball rolled and rolled I scampered around the bases as if I was being chased by some animal. I saw that home plate in my head as I ran. And as I rounded that second base I again saw, Coach Ginsburg now watching the outfielders race after the ball. I hit third base with authority and sped home for my second round tripper in two at bats. My teammates congratulated me. The stands were buzzing again. I remember my friends jumping up and down with big smiles on their faces.

I felt wonderful. Two times to bat. Two homes runs, against our high school star pitcher. This game was a fantasy baseball dream come true. I was Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Willie Mays all rolled into one that day.

Feel frees to pass this onto any one you think, would enjoy reading about baseball.

The arcade and flash games

A short overview of the history of arcade games and flash games will show that there is a huge connection between these two types of games. Arcade games have a long history and, even though the arcade games were not in the past what we know them to be today, the same concept is the main ingredient for the new ones as well. The arcade games are usually simple, have iconic characters, a certain number of levels with increasing difficulty and they do not require high skills or much learning time. In addition, they do not have deep storylines as most console games have in our days. Today's PC or console games with the same qualities can be considered arcade games.

Foundation Game Design with Flash (Foundations)Starting from the early 1920's with the use of old 'arcade games' in the amusement parks (such as ball toss games, coin-operated machines or pinball) this whole 'industry' has evolved immensely. This passion for arcade games motivated their producers to always search for something better and more entertaining. They have outdone themselves every time something new appeared on the market. From wood made machines and mechanical or electronic scoring readouts to the playing of games online, all games have conquered the hearts of the ageless children. Because people enjoy these arcade games so much they want to play them all the time. This is why they have not even completely left aside the coin-operated arcade games. They resort to them in restaurants, shopping malls, bars or pubs. However, they are only a substitute to the computer versions because playing games online is much better.

When speaking of flash games, we must consider the fact that they are a more complex, more modern, even if their ancestors are definitely arcade games. Flash games take their name from the platform used for their building - 'Flash', a program made by Macromedia. This modern interactive platform named "Flash" has three major components: the player, the file format and the authoring tool. The main advantage of this program is that of being very easy to use. Because this fact, the games built with the help of the platform have more options than others do. For example, a house the player destroys that will burn down with different effects. To be more convinced of the high importance that this platform has for us when playing a flash game we should know that it is usually necessary to download a free version of Macromedia Flash Player each time one feel like playing free games online. Generally, you can download the latest version of "Flash" from Macromedia. That is if your browser gets errors relating to Flash.

If you simply like to play good games online without knowing the whole technique that stand behind graphics, too many details about the designing of flash games are unnecessary. Flash games are all the games you play at home on your computer and have the ending ".exe" (meaning "executable"). While they make you enjoy the spare time spent at home, the flash games will be your best friend. A favorite application could turn into a real sport because playing flash games stimulates competition and trains reflexes. Web sites that host these kinds of activities and offer you free games give you the opportunity of joining teams of players and of participating to mass championships online.

Today, flash games have come to incorporate the qualities of arcade games. Flash games have been leveling, characters and certain plots, just as the old games did, only they are more advanced. Build on the same basic concept that stand behind the old arcade games, flash games now present a bigger potential. Therefore, a wider public use them. At least one can be found in any home and on any computer. They are short, usually easy to play and they have evolved the same way as arcade games - from shorter to longer, from simple plots to more complex and contemporary ones. When playing flash games you will have to accomplish a certain task. For arcade games, the idea is pretty much the same, meaning that you will have to solve a certain problem.

Many of today's Internet web sites offer many of games, which are very popular thanks to their interesting and exciting plots, but also because of the fact that they are free games. Playing games online offers the player the chance to meet and confront new people or people they already know. Several surveys have shown the people enjoy, sites that have a large offer of free games and that they would rather play flash games than do other things, considered more attractive in general. Another conclusion was that adult are more likely to play flash games than teenagers are. This goes to show that playing has no age and as long as the activity relaxes and makes people have fun it will always create an addiction. There is a child in everyone expecting to have his share of free games online.

MannerIsms Game to Teach Table Manners

Has anyone ever imagined that  there can be a game for teaching table manners to children at mealtimes so that they can display better social etiquettes at parties and  follow the same at home too. Well for people who haven?t come across it before, I am sure they will be astonished and excited to know that such a game exists in the gaming world. The game has got the name MannerIsms. In fact, the game is for the whole family, but more so for children and children enjoy it too while learning the basic culture on the table during mealtimes.

MannerismsSo, how did the game come into being ? Roz Heintzman, a woman from Toronto observed one night in early 2004 when she was at her friend Gillian Deacon?s house for a dinner that her friend has a unique way of teaching her children manners ? in which she asks her kids to take manners out of an envelope and follow them, one for each night. This observation led to the inspiration for MannerIsms. Roz Heintzman alongwith entrepreneur Carolyn Hynland (also from Toronto), started looking to fill a gap in the market for all things relating to manners ? specifically manners and children. After some informal market research, a business plan was formulated and, with the help of friends and family, the game MannerIsms came to life.

How is the game played ? One box of MannerIsms comes with twenty-five cards, each bearing one code of conduct. Each is sweet, lyrical, and easy to remember, such as ?Food to mouth, not mouth to food. In this way, you won?t seem rude.?. Another is "Mabel, Mabel if you're able, keep your elbows off the table!." It is played over a series of nights and each night, children in your family draw a new card from the stack and spend the meal perfecting it. Depending on the age and number of children playing, MannerIsms provides several options for rewarding good manners. And you can further tailor the game to your family.

In the game, suppose your kid(s) are motivated by reward, try affixing stickers to the manners cards successfully accomplished. If your children like competition between them, you can devise rewards, like having the child who most often used that night's manner pick the card for the next night. You can also play cumulatively, having your child(ren) keep watch for previous night's manners and keeping score on a sheet of paper.

Mannerisms Iv Canvas Wall Art, IV, BURGUNDY/MULTIThe game takes the nagging out of teaching table manners. It's also a reminder to parents to check their own behaviour. Some women admit to buy the game as much for their husbands. Its quite enjoyable for kids too to catch their parents in a mistake.

The game creation teams always strives to improve it by accepting suggestions such as if there are other manners that person would like to see including, or if your family has come up with a new way of scoring or tracking your children's progress.

MannerIsms were developed by parents and kids, for parents and kids. The next time that you are at the dinner table with your family or friends, you may contemplate trying this amazing, educative and fun game.

Sudoku Puzzles - A Brain Teaser

Sudoku Puzzles are braining teasers that have also been called wordless crossword puzzles. Sudoku Puzzles are often solved through lateral thinking and have been making a large impact that all across the world.

The Gigantic Sudoku Puzzle Book. 1500 Puzzles. Easy through Challenging to Nail Biting and Torturous. Largest Printed Sudoku Puzzle Book ever. All puzzles are guaranteed to have only ONE SOLUTION!Also known as Number Place, Sudoku puzzles are actually logic-based placement puzzles. The object of the game is to enter a numerical digit from 1 through 9 in each cell that is found on a 9 x 9 grid which is sundivided into 3 x 3 subgrids or regions. Several digits are often given in some cells. These are referred as givens. Ideally, at the end of the game, every row, column, and region must contain only one instance of each numeral from 1 through 9. Patience and logic are two qualities needed to complete the game.

Number puzzles very much similar to the Sudoku Puzzles have already been in existence and have found publication in many newspapers for over a century now. For instance, Le Siecle, a daily newspaper based in France, featured, as early as 1892, a 9x9 grid with 3x3 sub-squares, but used only double-digit numbers instead of the current 1-9. Another French newspaper, La France, created a puzzle in 1895 that used the numbers 1-9 but had no 3x3 sub-squares, but the solution does carry 1-9 in each of the 3 x 3 areas where the sub-squares would be. These puzzle were regular features in several other newspapers, including L'Echo de Paris for about a decade, but it unfortunately disappeared with the arrival of the first world war.

Howard Garns, a 74-year-old retired architect and freelance puzzle constructor, was considered the designer of the modern Sudoku Puzzles. His design was first published in 1979 in New York by Dell, through its magazine Dell Pencil Puzzles and Word Games under the heading Number Place. Garns' creation was most likely inspired by the Latin square invention of Leonhard Euler, with a few modifications, basically, with the addition of a regional restriction and the presentation of the game as a puzzle, providing a partially-complete grid and requiring the solver to fill in the empty cells.

Ultimate Puzzle Games: Sudoku Edition (Nintendo DS)Sudoku Puzzles were then taken to Japan by the puzzle publishing company Nikoli. It introduced the game in its paper Monthly Nikoli sometime in April 1984. Nikoli president Maki Kaji gave it the name Sudoku, a name that the company holds trademark rights over; other Japanese publications which featured the puzzle have to settle for alternative names.

In 1989, Sudoku Puzzles entered the video games arena when it was published as DigitHunt on the Commodore 64. It was introduced by Loadstar/Softdisk Publishing. Since then, other computerized versions of the Sudoku Puzzles have been developed. For instance, Yoshimitsu Kanai made several computerized puzzle generators of the game under the name Single Number for the Apple Macintosh in 1995 both in English and in Japanese language; for the Palm (PDA) in 1996; and for Mac OS X in 2005.
